The goal of Information Technology within the RSD is to provide a classroom environment that empowers and enables the learning experience for students.  From infrastructure networks providing access to applications and the Internet to focused educational tools and support for faculty, staff and students; Information Technology is dedicated deploying technology to support the district’s technology needs.

 

Technology in the classroom:

 

Promethean Active Boards – Interactive whiteboards allow teachers to incorporate curriculum, teaching concepts, interaction between teacher, student, and the board; and link to the Internet to bring the additional resources to the learning experience.

 

Scholastic Read 180 labs – Through the use of technology, print, adaptive and instructional software; the needs of struggling readers are met allowing them to experience success in reading, writing, and vocabulary skills.

 

Personal computers - Allow for teachers to engage students with technology through exercises and additional content from text books as well as local, state and federal programs.

 

EPIC laptops – Loaded with Department of Education approved curriculum for high school students allowing learning in and out of the classroom.

 

Wireless Connectivity – Allowing dynamic access to the RSD infrastructure from anywhere within the school.  Faculty no longer needs to be physically connected in the classroom but can now move around and interact with students.

 

Customer Service – The RSD is dedicated to supporting all approved technology and software used throughout the district.  Our dedicated staff in our support center as well as on-site at our schools work to ensure technology works as expected and needed.
