
Current projects
The new L.B. Landry School in Algiers is a three-story, 210,000-square-foot building that includes career technology labs, visual and performing arts labs and classrooms for core curriculum, visual arts labs, rehearsal spaces for dance, choir, band and art, and a black box theater. It will have a 650-seat auditorium, a gym for competition and an auxiliary gym for practices. Global Green is funding an irrigation system, a solar hot water system and other sustainable elements. This school will open in August 2010.

Completed projects
Lake Area School, 6026 Paris Ave., is home to Greater Gentilly High School. The new building has many innovative features, including a flexible floor plan with retractable walls in several classrooms to allow for team teaching and energy-saving features like a system to collect rainwater that will be run through a filtration system, then to chillers to keep the school cool. As with all of the city’s new public schools, it was built with the goal of reducing energy consumption by 30 percent.
The first new public facility built from the ground up in New Orleans since Hurricane Katrina, Langston Hughes School, at 3519 Trafalgar Street, opened in August 2009. The school includes technology-ready classrooms, special education areas, a media center, music and art spaces, a full cafeteria and kitchen
Joseph A. Craig School, 1423 St. Philip St., reopened in Treme on January 4, 2010 after undergoing a full renovation. The restored building features a state of the art science lab, a new kitchen addition and renovated dining area, a new media center, energy efficient, hurricane-proof windows and renovated play areas.

Andrew H. Wilson School, 3617 General Pershing St., opened January 4, 2010 after a complete renovation of the historic Broadmoor building and an addition that includesa gymnasium, cafeteria and additional art and music classroom space. The building is home to Andrew H. Wilson Charter School.
