The Recovery School District’s Family-Community Resource Centers create a welcoming and informative place at our schools that families and members of the community can call their own. Parents, school staff and community members can meet in the centers, receive and disseminate information, network and share resources.  The centers also serve as hubs for leadership development; acquisition of new skills; and engagement in interactive learning activities between home and school.

Because the staff members are the “heartbeat” of our Family-Community Resource Centers, each is staffed with a Family Educator who has children and/or family members attending RSD schools.  As the school and community link, the Family Educator hosts all family, school staff and community visitors, recruits volunteers, tracks absent students, organizes center activities, and make all-important home visits.   Most importantly, the Family Centers send a clear message to families that they are very important in the education of their children.
